Concussion / Neuro-Rehab

According to the Brain Injury Association of America, more than 3.5 million children and adults sustain an acquired brain injury (ABI) each year. In a sports setting, a concussion is a type of MILD traumatic brain injury in which the brain receives trauma from a sudden change in momentum or movement.

Signs of a concussion can include headache, feeling dazed or "in a fog", irritability, dizziness or difficulty orienting to ones surroundings, nausea, or vomiting. It is important to remember that not ALL concussions require a loss of consciousness. Some athletes can look "normal" after a sports related trauma even though they had a concussive event. it is important for coaches, trainers, parents and doctors to know what the signs and symptoms of concussions and treat them appropriately.

At Sports and Sun @ 20/20, we offer a revolutionary new technique to assess and treat concussion related issues called the Right Eye. Utilizing eye tracking technology, the Right Eye gives us insight as to how the eyes and brain are dealing with injury and the best course of treatment and rehabilitation. The Right Eye also provides the EyeQ Trainer which is a home based therapy module use to improve vision skills that may have become compromised after a concussion.
